Biography: Ben C.K. Ngan is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Engineering and Information Science at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU). He is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the EWG-DSS EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems, the IFIP WG8.3 on Decision Support Systems, the Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems, and the Northeast Decision Sciences Institute. Prior to joining PSU, Dr. Ngan was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Applied Information Technology at George Mason University and worked as a Scientist in the Division of R&D Technology at Syneren Technologies Corporation. Dr. Ngan received his Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University, MBA in Management Information Systems from California State University, Chico, and BEng in Electronic Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests are Decision Guidance and Support Systems (DGSS), including Decision Optimization Models, Computational Algorithms, Data Analytics and Visualization, and DGSS Applications in diverse domains and markets such as Health Care, Energy, Stock, and Geospatial Intelligence. He has published a number of research papers in the various conferences and journals. He received the Best Paper Award and the Best Student Paper Award at the 2013 and 2011 International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS) respectively. He is also the recipient of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) Student Award for Academic Excellence from the Executive Council of UPE and the IEEE Computer Society. Dr. Ngan has served as the Technical Program Committee Co-chair of the Doctoral Colloquium & Demos Sessions (DCDS'14) at the World Congress in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Applied Computing (WORLDCOMP'14), as well as the Session Chair of the International Conference on Advances in Big Data Analytics (ABDA'14) and the International Conference on Computing for Geospatial Research and Application (COM.Geo'14). He is also the reviewer of (1) the book entitled Computational Network Science: An Algorithmic Approach, (2) the International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications (IJACSA), (3) the International Journal of Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence (IJARAI), (4) the IEEE/ACIS International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS'15), and (5) the International Symposium Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Applications (AAIA'15).
